Meet Steve & Julie!

Professional Firearms Instructors Steve and Julie Faris have dedicated themselves to offering unique, effective, and premier firearms training throughout California for the past decade. They believe a huge part of their success comes from a putting God, family, and their partnership first.  Family is always first and their motto in life is Always Forward.  They are each committed to 100 hours, of continued training every year, sharing their knowledge with others and showcasing a winning spirit through a blend of kindness, tenacity, and humility.

The Couple Who Teaches Together…

Steve and Julie launched Aegis Authority, LP, a premier firearms training company in Southern, California five years ago. Their mission began together on a desert range, volunteering as instructors for a successful Women on Target community shooting event.  

With Steve’s 22 years of Navy Service, training in the firearms industry, and range management combined with Julie’s enthusiasm, five-star hospitality background, and firearms training, their Women on Target clinics were selling out in less than 2 hours.  A well-planned and safe event, dedicated volunteers, and strong industry relationships made this the most sought-after training in Southern California for beginner women shooters.  

The magic of their partnership was born through hundreds of volunteer hours for these events. After four years and training nearly 1000 women, they recognized that women were looking for that “next step” in their training.

The solution, Steve launched Aegis Authority, LP and Julie launched the High Desert Chapter of A Girl & A Gun.   AG & AG’s mission is to educate women on safe and accurate shooting, but it’s so much more than shooting!  It’s about Confidence, Empowerment, Support, Friendships, Knowledge, Fun, Self-Reliance, and Sisterhood.  

Every day we witness the transformation of women who set out to learn how to shoot, and in the process, discover a confidence that improves all areas of their lives.  

Aegis Authority, LLC is meeting the community's needs and requests for private training, CCW training, co-ed, and self-defense training at five local ranges, including Bass Pro Shops, Lytle Creek Firing Line Range, and Big Bear Sportsman’s Club.
